Here to Keep You Informed
Experienced with severe weather, winter weather and tropical weather forecasting, particularly through social media channels. You are watching my most recent meteorologist reel (updated January 2019).
My full show begins at 1:24.

A Multi-Faceted Meteorologist
I've followed the weather since I was a young child, having watched and covered many different types of severe weather. My strongest specialization is in severe weather and I have done extensive research on human behavior during tornado threats while in motor vehicles - particularly on whether they would take shelter or not , and where they would take shelter - in preparation and protection from tornadoes. Taking the message to the public through publications, discussion and forecasting on local television is my goal to improve awareness and save lives.
I recently graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master of Science in Geosciences with a focus in Meteorology, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography. Having come from the north to the south, I have experienced all extremes of weather, including tornado outbreaks, snow and ice storms, tropical cyclones, heat and cold. It has made me focus on both the broadcast and research aspects of meteorology in order to serve the community and continue to learn.

I am proficient in Baron Omni and I am ready to learn WSI MAX, Weather Central or other weather systems. I am also very proficient in Microsoft Office, RadarScope, GR2 Analyst and social media. I have worked with Camtasia, TriCaster and HandBrake to produce videos.

I am a storm spotter and a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. I also presented a poster on the polar vortex at the NWA's 2015 Annual Meeting.
